Q: What are Bonus Coupons?

Bonus Coupons are rewards that can be redeemed for FREE Books and Resources for your class!

Bonus Coupons are intended for the exclusive and mutual educational benefit of all participating students, their teachers, classrooms, and schools.

Q: How can I earn Bonus Coupons?
A:
Bonus Coupons are earned based on your Combined Qualifying Order Value, which is the pre-tax total for all items that you order at the same time from the Reading Club student flyers and teacher pages, less Bonus Coupons and Credit Notes redeemed. Every time you place an order with a Combined Qualifying Order Value of $25 or more, you earn Bonus Coupons. The Bonus Coupons you earn are automatically deposited in your Bonus Bank when your order ships.

Q: How can I see how many Bonus Coupons I have?
A:
Bonus Coupons are tracked in your Bonus Bank. You can check your Bonus Coupon balance on the My Account Page page, in Teacher Store Online, or by calling Customer Service at 1-800-268-3860.

Q: How do I redeem my Bonus Coupons?
A:
Bonus Coupons can be redeemed from your Bonus Bank any time you place an order by indicating the amount you would like to redeem on the Rewards & Redemptions screen in Checkout (for online orders), by filling out the appropriate space on the order form, or by telling the Customer Service Representative on the phone. Any Paper Bonus Coupons you have can still be redeemed; they must also be declared when you place your order, and then mailed in with your payment. Please note that Bonus Coupons cannot be redeemed for cash.

Q: What can I use my Bonus Coupons for?
A:
You can use Bonus Coupons on product from any Reading Club student flyer or teacher pages, the Classroom Reward Catalogue, Clearance flyers, Online Extras, and the Classroom Essentials Catalogue and Les indispensables du prof.

Q: When will I receive my Bonus Coupons?
A:
The Bonus Coupons you earn with each order are automatically added to your Bonus Bank when your order ships. You can check your Bonus Coupon balance under My Account on your Profile page in Reading Club Online, in Account Details in Teacher Store Online, or by calling Customer Service. To find out how they were calculated, refer to the Bonus Coupon chart in the teacher flyer.

Q: Do Bonus Coupons expire?
A:
Bonus Coupons do not have an expiry date.

Q: Can I use my Bonus Coupons to pay an outstanding balance?
A:
Bonus Coupons can only be redeemed when you place an order, and they must be declared at that time to be used. Bonus Coupons cannot be applied to an outstanding account balance.

Dollars to Spend Now

Q: What are Dollars to Spend Now?
A:
Dollars to Spend Now are rewards that can be earned when you place an order from the Reading Club student flyers and teacher pages. Dollars to Spend Now can be redeemed immediately to add additional FREE books to your order for the classroom.

Q: How can I earn Dollars to Spend Now?
A:
Dollars to Spend Now are earned based on your Combined Qualifying Order Value, which is the pre-tax total for all items that you order at the same time from the Reading Club student flyers and teacher pages, less Bonus Coupons and Credit Notes redeemed. Dollars to Spend Now are earned in different amounts depending on the size of your order; each amount can only be earned once per customer in any calendar month.

Q: How do I redeem Dollars to Spend Now?
A:
If you have earned Dollars to Spend Now, it will be listed on the Rewards & Redemptions page during Checkout in Reading Club Online. Click Make Selection and the FREE Book selection window will appear so you can choose your free items. To choose your free items:

  • Find your selection by searching for the title or keywords, or use Select by Grade Level to choose a grade and see a list of books to choose from.
  • Once you’ve made your selection, click Confirm Selection and proceed with Checkout. If the FREE Books you choose add up to more than the amount of the Dollars to Spend Now you earned, the dollar amount difference will be added to your Student Club Amount Owing.

Q: Can I choose items with my Dollars to Spend Now that cost more than the amount I earned?
A:
Yes, you can choose as many items as you want with your Dollars to Spend Now. If your selections cost more than the amount of Dollars to Spend Now that you’ve earned, the difference will be added to your Student Clubs Amount Owing for you to pay.

Q: If I go over my Dollars to Spend Now amount, does that count towards my rewards?
A:
Yes, when you select items that cost more than the Dollars to Spend Now amount you earned, that top-off amount is added to your Student Clubs total. The pre-tax value of the top-off amount is included in the calculations for Bonus Coupon rewards and Free Items, but is not included in calculations for earning more Dollars to Spend Now.

Q: Can I earn Dollars to Spend Now more than once?
A:
You can only earn each level of Dollars to Spend Now one time in each calendar month. If you place a second order that qualifies for more or less Dollars to Spend Now than your first order, you will earn the new Dollars to Spend amount.

Q: How do I change a Dollars to Spend Now Selection?
A:
If you have already made a Dollars to Spend Now selection and wish to change it, you may do so prior to submitting your order. Click the Edit button beside the item(s) on the Rewards & Redemption screen and the Make Selection window will reappear so you can change your items. Once your order has been submitted, it cannot be changed.

Q: Do Dollars to Spend Now expire?
A:
Dollars to Spend Now must be used on the order where they are earned.

Q: Can I save my Dollars to Spend Now for a future order?
A:
No, Dollars to Spend Now must be used on the order where they are earned.

Q: Can I use my Dollars to Spend Now to pay an outstanding balance?
A:
Dollars to Spend Now cannot be applied to outstanding account balances.

Free Book Pick Coupons

Q: How do I redeem a Free Book Pick coupon?
A:
On the Rewards & Redemptions screen in checkout, enter the Free Book Pick coupon code into the Coupon field. The book selection window will automatically appear so you can choose your free item.

To choose your free items

  • Find your selection by searching for the title or keyword, or use Select by Grade Level to choose a grade and see a list of books to choose from.
  • Once you’ve made your selection, click Confirm Selection and proceed with Checkout

Q: Can I use my Free Book Pick coupon to get a more expensive item and just pay the difference?
A:
Free Book Pick coupons must be redeemed for an item that costs less than the coupon value; you cannot select a more expensive item and pay the difference.

Q: Can I combine my Free Book Pick coupons to select a more expensive item?
A:
Free Book Pick coupons must be redeemed for a single item that costs less than the coupon value; they cannot be combined.

Q: Can I choose two items for my Free Book Pick coupon if they cost less than the coupon value?
A:
Free Book Pick coupons can be redeemed for a single item only.

Q: What happens if the item I select costs less than the value of my Free Book Pick coupon?
A:
If the item you select with your Free Book Pick coupon costs less than the coupon value, the remaining balance is forfeited.

Q: Do Free Book Pick Coupons expire?
A:
Yes, please check your coupon to confirm when it can be redeemed. Free Book Pick coupons can only be redeemed between certain dates.

Q: How do I change a Free Book Pick Selection?
A:
If you have already made a Free Book Pick selection and wish to change it, you may do so prior to submitting your order. Click the Edit button beside the item on the Rewards & Redemptions screen and the Book selection window will reappear so you can change your item. Once your order has been submitted, it cannot be changed.

Q: What is the Bonus Bank?

The Bonus Bank is where the Bonus Coupons you earn are deposited and accumulated until you redeem them for Scholastic product. It's easy — we keep track for you! There are no more paper coupons to file and mail, and no way to lose them!

Q: Do I have a Bonus Bank?
A:
If you have an account with Scholastic Reading Club, you have a Bonus Bank. You can see your account transactions and current balance in Reading Club Online on the My Account Page, in Teacher Store Online or by calling Customer Service at 1-800-268-3860 for more information.

Q: Are the Bonus Coupons in my Bonus Bank the same as the paper Bonus Coupons I earned in the past?
A:
Yes! The Bonus Coupons in your Bonus Bank are the same as the paper Bonus Coupons you earned in the past. You can still combine and redeem them for product from any Scholastic Reading Club flyer, Classroom Reward Catalogue or Classroom Essentials Catalogue.

Q: How do I redeem Bonus Coupons from my Bonus Bank?
A:

The Bonus Coupons you earn on an order are automatically deposited into your Bonus Bank at the same time that your order ships from our warehouse, usually within 1-2 weeks of when you placed it. They become available for you to redeem on future orders at that time.
