From the Desk of
Geronimo Stilton

Hello Mouse Friends,

Cheese slices, was I in trouble! The latest edition of the New Mouse City Yellow Pages was printed with a bunch of errors. What does that have to do with me, you ask? Well, I am the one who published it! EEK.

So what should you do when you make a mistake and everyone is out for your fur? Get out of town, of course — which is exactly what I did! Trap, Thea, Benjamin and I set off in search of a mysterious silver island that was moving through the southern seas. I figured by the time I returned home, all the mice in New Mouse City would have forgotten about the Yellow Pages incident. Little did I know then that by running away, I would end up in even MORE trouble! My family decided we should travel by hot air balloon. But before you could say “hot cheese on toast,” we were attacked by a ship of pirate cats! Yes, CATS! Yikes.

Now, I am not sure if you are aware of the rumors about cats and mice. Most people believe that we really don’t get along, and that cats like to eat little mice like me. Well, they are absolutely right! Luckily for us, Benjamin was with us, and he really saved the day.

Well, eventually we did make it back in New Mouse City and the mice were so happy to see us that the Yellow Pages were almost forgotten. So now I am working on a book about my latest adventure. I think I will call it “Attack of the Bandit Cats.” But I can tell you that the next time I make a mistake, I don’t think I will run away — you never know what’s waiting around the corner!

Yours truly,
