Breaking News PhotoNEWSMOUSE HAS 24 HOURS TO WRITE BOOK. CAN HE DO IT?

Some Mice Unconvinced Geronimo Has Courage
By Rodentrick Roundrat

NEW MOUSE CITY—Twenty-four hours to write a book about Halloween? Talk about scary!  But that's exactly what Rodent's Gazette editor Geronimo Stilton has to do.

The assignment landed on Rodent's Gazette editor Geronimo Stilton's desk late yesterday evening. Witnesses say they watched in horror as special correspondent Thea Stilton put her little paws on her hips and squeaked, “You’re a writer, big brother. You write the book.”

One staff writer who prefers to remain anonymouse said, “she bosses him around with an iron paw, forcing him to do things he doesn’t want to do. Geronimo needs to learn to say no.” So why doesn’t he say no?

“I enjoy a challenge,” said the seasoned newsmouse, “and besides, I can’t disappoint Benjamin. After all, he is my favorite nephew.” As it turns out, while Halloween is Geronimo Stilton’s least favorite holiday, it is Benjamin’s favorite.

But what Mr. Stilton may not realize is that in order to write the book he will have to do research in some of the spookiest places on Mouse Island. When asked about this very thing, Geronimo had this to say, “Crumbling cheese sticks! You mean I’ll have to go to f-f-f-funeral parlors? G-g-g-graveyards?”

“I don’t want to be negative, but I’m not sure that he can do it. Geronimo is one 'fraidy mouse,” said Chris Cheesegeiger, wrinkling his nose. “I mean, this rodent is afraid of his own shadow!”

If nothing else, one thing is unanimouse: the experience will be unforgettable—and fur-raising.
