About the story

A lot of schools ask Robert Munsch to visit. Mrs. Livingston's class at St. Patrick School in Cobalt, Ontario, sent him one of the best invitations. Her class wrote to him in Grade 3, in Grade 4 and in Grade 7 — so he finally went to visit them.

When he got to the North Bay airport, Mrs. Livingston met him to drive him to Cobalt. In the car were her son, Andrew, and a bunch of the other kids from Grade 7. At the airport, Munsch noticed how embarrassed Andrew was when his mom hugged him. Munsch asked Andrew what his mom did to embarrass him and he gave Munsch this list:

  • 1. Talks too much to people she meets.
  • 2. Hugs people.
  • 3. Tells people stories about when he was a baby.
  • 4. Takes pictures all the time.

  • To which Munsch added:
    5. Wears weird clothes.

Munsch stayed with Taylor Jae's family while he was on that trip.
